Learning Lab

Northville Christian School recognizes that not all children learn the same way. For this reason, a Learning Lab is available for students experiencing challenges in  academic areas. The classroom teacher refers students experiencing challenges to the Learning Lab department head, who determines whether diagnostic testing should be administered, and whether or not a student qualifies for Learning Lab support.

The Learning Lab provides reading intervention for students in 1st and 2nd grade who struggle in learning to read.  Our reading specialist is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Phonics First program. This multi-sensory phonics based program gives students the skills and strategies they need to become successful readers.

Math Enrichment groups are available for students who benefit from above grade level math challenges.  These groups, which focus on developing problem solving skills, meet once a week.

The Learning Lab provides a variety of support for students in all grades based on their needs.
